TRY A TRI SWIM

The Try a Tri swim will start 15 minutes before the sprint swim begins at the other side of the sheltered bay.

Competitors will enter the water from the beach and the course will be clearly marked out with 3 buoys placed in a rectangular formation. There will be plenty of kayaks and safety boats keeping a watchful eye over all the swimmers and  ‘Angel swimmers’ will also be in the water to aid anyone who may be feeling nervous.

As it is a sheltered bay  it is ideal for beginner swimmers to  dip their toe’s into the world of Triathlon. We will assist you in every way we can to ensure that this will be a memorable enjoyable swim.

TRY A TRI BIKE ROUTE

The bike route is an out and back route that follows the same course as the Sprint distance for 4 km until the turn around point at Oyster Hall (just before the hill into the Spa! )

It is flat and fast and packed end to end with stunning scenery looking out over Tralee bay and the Sliabh Mish mountains on the way out, and back towards Camp and Fenit Pier on the way back.

A perfect cycle as an introduction to triathlon!

TRY A TRI RUN ROUTE

For the run route you will exit Transition at the same exit point that you left with your Bike. This is also an out and back route.

Instead of turning right as you will have done with the bike you will head left and run towards the back of the car park and under the iconic railway bridge where you  take a right turn to bring you out onto the road and up the the gentle hill that leads out of the Pier area of the village.

You will pass straight through the junction to Fenit Island (on the left) on the way up this hill and the village post office will be to your right. At the next Junction you will turn left (there will be a water station here) and continue out towards Talaught and run over the Railway bridge. The turn around point will be close to the entrance to Lighthouse village just past the Railway bridge.

As you return to the finish line you have that lovely downhill  that winds towards the pier to guide your tired elated feet to the finish line where our fabulous bespoke Tri Kingdom Come Medal will be placed around your neck!!
